Soo Bahk Do: Way of the Striking Hand
This is the art we teach at our dojang. But this art is more about just striking. As a traditional martial art it aims to develop every aspect of the body and mind. Being a highly effective form of self-defense as well as a traditional art form with immense beauty. Soo Bahk Do is unique as it meant to develop the mind and spirit as well as the body. It is versatile and rooted deeply in Korean philosophy.
Moo Duk Kwan: School of Martial Virtue
The Moo Duk Kwan was established by Kwan Jang Nim (grandmaster) Hwang Kee in South Korea back in 1945. The Moo Duk Kwan is the organization meant to teach and preserve the art of Soo Bahk Do. Teaching not only the physical techniques of the art but also the discipline, traditions, history, and philosophy behind it.
St. Cloud Soo Bahk Do
Our dojang was established in 1979 by Bill Nelson Sa Bom Nim (master instructor). Over the decades our dojang has produced hundreds of black belts and multiple reaching the level of Sa Dan (master). In 2025 he passed the Dojang over to Tanner Armstrong Bu Sa Bom (certified instructor) who has been hard at work to uphold the standards and foundation that Nelson Sa Bom Nim created.
Our school is authorized by World Moo Duk Kwan to teach Soo Bahk Do and our instructors are internationally certified to teach the art. Our instructors are always student-focused and we aim to make sure every student is noticed and leaves class better then when they entered. Our goal is help students become honest, confident, disciplined leaders through martial arts training.
