Ask a few questions, inspect a few credentials and use your common sense.

Soo Bahk Do Institute

Video Slow Motion, Fast Forward and Reverse

Did you know that the Soo Bahk Do Institute allows you to watch all videos in slow motion (1/2, 1/4 and 1/8 speeds) so you can see exactly how a technique is performed? Did you know that you can also fast forward (2X, 4X and 8X speed) to get through longer videos quickly without missing anything? And did you know that you can even watch videos in REVERSE fast or slow? You can’t do any of this on YouTube.

Dan Tests

The U.S. Soo Bahk Do Moo Duk Kwan Federation’s Technical Advisory Committee provides 2 opportunities per year in each Federation region for qualified students to test for 1st, 2nd and 3rd Dan ranks. Higher rank candidates are tested at an annual, week long Masters exam called the Ko Dan Ja Shim Sa.

Pursuant to Technical Advisory Committee instructions, Federation Regional Dan tests are scheduled and managed by Regional Examiners and Regional Administrators in each of the Federation’s 10 regions.

Students applying to test for Dan rank must be recommended by their personal instructor and must submit a completed application packet and fees in accordance with the instructions of Regional Officials.

Regional Dan tests are the only authorized means for individuals to apply for legitimate Moo Duk Kwan dan rank certification.

Learn more about the Moo Duk Kwan’s unique Dan Bon system here.

Dan Test forms can be downloaded from the wiki and completed on your computer using the free Adobe Reader software.
