Dan Tests

Reading Time: < 1 minute

The U.S. Soo Bahk Do Moo Duk Kwan Federation's Technical Advisory Committee provides 2 opportunities per year in each Federation region for qualified students to test for 1st, 2nd and 3rd Dan ranks. Higher rank candidates are tested at an annual, week long Masters exam called the Ko Dan Ja Shim Sa.

Pursuant to Technical Advisory Committee instructions, Federation Regional Dan tests are scheduled and managed by Regional Examiners and Regional Administrators in each of the Federation's 10 regions.

Students applying to test for Dan rank must be recommended by their personal instructor and must submit a completed application packet and fees in accordance with the instructions of Regional Officials.

Regional Dan tests are the only authorized means for individuals to apply for legitimate Moo Duk Kwan dan rank certification.
